Consultation on Proposed Merger with Kidgate Surgery
On the 10th of July 2017, James Street Family Practice and Kidgate Surgery officially launched a 3 month consultation on the proposed merger of the two practices. Both practices strongly believe in, and are committed to, maintaining local provision of high quality general practice in our rural community. We strongly believe that the proposed merger will ensure long term sustainability for both our practices. National Patient Participation Week
"In support of the National Patient Participation Week, a ‘Drop-in’ was arranged for the patients of Tasburgh Lodge Practice, held in the Methodist Hall on the Broadway Woodhall Spa on Tuesday June 20th 2017.
It was to be an informal discussion on many aspects of the Health Service. Jackie Rotherham, practice manager and Claire Hornsby from the East CCG were in attendance to answer questions. About twenty people attended, some existing members of the Patient Participation Group (PPG), and some others who expressed a wish to join the Group.
One of the areas of most concern was the wait to have blood tests, and not being able to have blood tests on the days when they were required. Jackie gave a full explanation of why this occurred.
Most of the comments were complimentary of the service given by the Practice, and many spoke well of the service and treatment given by both the Pilgrim Hospital at Boston, and the County Hospital at Lincoln.
Claire handed round some consultation documents, including the consultation on the proposed closure of the Walk in Centre in Lincoln.
As the leader of the Tasburgh Lodge Practice PPG I would like to thank all who attended our first open meeting and made it a very successful event."
New Digital ECG Machine
Services at a doctor’s surgery in Woodhall Spa have been boosted after patients and friends raised around £2,000 to buy a vital piece of equipment.
The Tasburgh Lodge Surgery, in Victoria Lane, now has its own digital electrocardiogram (ECG) machine. The machine is fully integrated with the surgery’s software and records an accurate image of a patient’s heartbeat which can be compared with previous results and re-produced at hospital if needed.
